HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell,then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

No sitting in the sofa and if I want to sleep, I gonna have to do it without the covers! Not happy at all right now. Last night was a blast and I think I drank more than usual, but not that much. Good friends and partying on a boat, that's the life right there. And the best part... no hangover today. It'll probably come tomorrow. DAMN! But so far, so good.

Today though was awesome. Went out to the big city, Gothenburg with some friends and we shopped around some. Got myself some nice pants from Cheap Monday. My first pair! And right after that I bought another pair haha. This is not going to be a fashion blog btw... I just want to share!! Anyways, bought a hoodie on H&M and some nice underwear and also some magnets to my boards at home. Hmmm.. what else... yes some colored t-shirts. That's about it. Good stuff!

I hate going shopping. My back kills me and I get so damn tired afterwards. I need a pro-shopper who can buy me nice things instead haha.

I thought about posting some pics on the things I bought, but everything is put away. And I don't have the strength to take them out! I just cleaned the whole apartment as always.. so I need some rest. Think Mafia 2 will suit me just perfect.

So yesterday I didn't blog, because we were in the end process of our competition project in school. Today, we found out that it didn't go as planned. So I'm pissed of and want to be alone, but I'm going out instead with my buddies. Hate to lose!!! So next time, I'm gonna win again... and then again and again.

I tell myself the ad people who voted, was drunk and typed in the wrong group number. So I'm still a winner in my mind ;)

Don't know if I got the strength to listen to the last one though... it's late here in Sweden. But it's a fun tip to ya'll.. listen to some live shows with graphic people. Updating Myself!

So I'm updating myself a little. This blog as well. I hope I can post more stuff now in the future. I don't have as much to do as before. Well we'll see what happens.

#1. Made a poster for DACS. Was suppose to collab with John Mark (the founder), but he and I decided to create something else in the future instead. That kid has sooo much to do with all of this. He's doing an amazing job.

#2. Got myself a Dribbble account! Love it so far.

#3. My skateboard project has been postponed for now. If I'm lucky maybe some poster will be for sale this year.

I've been away to the capital city of Sweden, Stockholm. 300 people met up to compete against each other in Sweden's biggest competition for students, called 48h. We were 3 in every team, so 100 teams total. And me and my group came in 3rd place. Feels both good and bad. I want to win every challenge, but when I think about the stress and panic we had in the last ours to come up with a new campaign, then I'm pretty satisfied.

We had 48 hours to create a campaign for Reporters without Borders. The last 6 hours is what we won on.
